Re-Enrollment for the 2017-2018 Academic Year: Re-enrollment for the 2017-18 academic year will begin on February 1. An email will be sent with instructions on how to re-enroll in the coming days. Please note that it is crucial to re-enroll during the the time period designated for current CA families in order to guarantee your placement for next school year. Enrollment will open to the public on March 1.

Cambridge Academy Spirit Week and Homecoming: Spirit Week is January 23 – 27. Themes for the day are as follows: Monday (Jan. 23) Tacky Day, Tuesday (Jan. 24) Decade Day, Wednesday (Jan. 25) Class Theme Day, Thursday (Jan. 26) Blue and Gold Day, Friday (Jan. 27) Pajama Day. We have two home games that week and would love to have packed stands to cheer on our Cougars: Monday (Jan. 23) and Thursday (Jan. 26). Our homecoming game is on Thursday (Jan. 26) and we will announce our Homecoming Court during this game.

100th Day of School Pet Food Drive: In honor of our 100th Day of School, our middle school is sponsoring a Pet Food Drive. Their goal is to collect at least 100 cans / bags of pet food to donate to the Greenwood Humane Society on the 100th Day of School. If every student and teacher in the school brought in just one item, they would be able to donate more than double their goal!
Items can be dropped off in the school front office from now until January 30.
The Greenwood Humane Society uses the following brands / types:
9 Lives canned cat food
Friskies canned cat food
Pedigree canned dog food
Pedigree puppy dry food
Purina puppy dry food
Ol’ Roy puppy dry food

It’s Box Tops Time Again:  The deadline to submit Box Tops for this school year is MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13 @ 3:00 pm.  Please remember to write your child’s teacher’s name on each submission to ensure proper class credit! The class with the most turned in will win a party with refreshments courtesy of our local Publix grocery. Start clipping those Box Tops!

Stock the Concession Stand: The CA Cougar Club is seeking donations of canned soft drinks, bottled water, various flavors of Gatorade, individual serving size bags of chips, and any type of candy bars to use to stock our concession stand. Money raised from the concession stand and other athletic sponsored fundraisers go directly to support all of our athletic programs. With over 95% student participation rate last year, it is easy to see how important our athletic programs are to our student body. Our concession stand is used for all 3 athletic seasons (August – April), so donations are accepted at any time. Thank you in advance for your support of the CA Cougar Club and our hardworking student athletes!

1st Annual CA Sporting Clay Tournament: At Back to School Night we gave some important dates for upcoming fundraisers.  One of the new and exciting events we are doing this year is a Sporting Clay Tournament to be held on February 25, 2017 at the National Wild Turkey Federation Palmetto Shooting Complex in Edgefield, SC.  We will be sending home the information for registration and station sponsorship this week and forms can also be found on our website by using the links found below.  This event is going to be open to the public and will be advertised so if you are interested in participating, please get your registration and money to the school as soon as possible.  THERE WILL BE LIMITED SPACE!  We will not advertise to the public until December so Cambridge families and friends will have the first opportunity to register for the event and for sponsorship of stations.   This could make a great Christmas gift for those avid hunters in your family!!

General Reminders:

Reminder concerning tardies, absences and early dismissals: Students who are not seated in their classroom at 8:00am are marked tardy.
- Please remind your child to walk straight to the cafeteria if their class is still in there, or straight to their classrooms if their class has already been dismissed from the cafeteria. There are times when a child is dropped off prior to 8:00am but is still marked tardy because they linger in the hallways instead of reporting straight to class. If your child is having a problem with tardies, please try to drop them off earlier. Morning carline begins at 7:30am. As a reminder, students who are tardy can be a disruption to the morning routine of the entire class.
- Students who are marked absent for the day must have a written note from home, a doctor’s excuse, or have completed the Planned Absence From in order for an absence to be excused.
- All students who dismiss school prior to 2:45pm must have a parent sign them out in the front office.

Monday Academic Dress: Don’t forget to wear your CA polo or other approved CA logo wear on Mondays throughout the school year.
